Dr. Darrell Horn
Darrell served as a pastor in Oklahoma and Texas. He and Karen served as missionaries for nine years with the International Mission Board in Costa Rica, Venezuela and Mexico City. They have five adult children, four of which are married and 10 grandchildren. He served for over 10 years as the Executive Director of the San Felipe Baptist Association. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the San Antonio Baptist Association. He earned both a BA and a BS degree from the Oklahoma Baptist University. He earned a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he taught as an adjunct missions professor for eight years.
Dr. Roland Lopez
The Lord has constituted Roland to be an evangelist. The Lord has given him the opportunity to pastor churches in Texas and Arizona that have grown because of the evangelistic preaching and training. Roland is fluent in English and Spanish, and is a member of Mighty Fortress Christian Fellowship in San Antonio TX. Dr. Lopez holds degrees from the following institutions: Mexican Baptist Bible Institute (1973), The Criswell College (B.A., 1976), Luther Rice Seminary (M. Div., 1977 & D.Min., 1999), California School of Theology (Ph.D., 1985), Southwestern Theological Seminary (M.A., 2004). Currently, Roland is the Church Planting Specialist for the San Antonio Baptist Association.
Legacy Church Coordinator
Frank Jackson serves as the SABA Legacy Church Coordinator. His primary responsibility is to come alongside Pastors and Churches prayerfully seeking how to sustain the Church’s legacy providing relevant ministry in the midst of the transforming cultural environment. The intent is to encourage Churches to effectively communicate the Gospel in their local context and remain focused on being Great Commission Churches engaged in Kingdom impact. Frank has 12 years’ experience as a local Church Pastor and 25 years’ experience as a Chaplain in the United States Army. He and his wife Lynn have been married for 47 years. They have two grandsons and 3 grandchildren.
Community Involvment Coordinator
Prior to his work with SABA Steve served in the U.S. Airforce, worked at SAWS and was the Business Manager at Castle Hills FB School for 9 years. Steve has worked diligently with many faith based disaster recovery organizations; the floods of 2002, the Columbia Shuttle Search/Recovery team (2003), Florida Hurricane Relief (2004), Hurricane Katrina (2005), Tropical Storm Erin (2007), Hurricane Ike (2008),Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief for 10 years and served on the Trinity Baptist Church Mission Committee for 20 years. Steve has been involved with SABA for 25 years and for the last nine years he’s been with SABA as the Community Ministry Coordinator. Steve has lived in San Antonio since 1952, where he attended MacArthur High School and is a graduate of Texas A & I University in Kingsville (1971). He has been married to his wife Pam since 1971. They have four adult children and are the proud grandparents to one grandchild.
Sammy Lopez is pastor of Mighty Fortress Christian Fellowship in San Antonio, TX. He is married to his wife Judy and has a daughter named Alivia. Sammy's role is to assist young pastors in the association to provide insights, mentorship, and to encourage involvement in our association.
Assistant to Executive Director
Angela Coleman is the Admin. Assistant to the Executive Director. She has been with SABA since March 2017, where she started as the Ministry Assistant for Christian Education/ Print Shop Coordinator. Before her employment with SABA she was the Store Manager for the Brooks City Base Family Christian Store where she faithfully served for 8 years. Prior to her 20 year career in retail, she served in the U.S. Army as a 91D - Operating Room Specialist. Angela is the proud mom of one son, SaVaughn, and has called San Antonio home for the past 20 years.
Albert Diaz serves as the digital coordinator for SABA. Albert has lived in the San Antonio area since 1995. He served for several years as director of the Northwest Vista Community College’s chapter of Baptist Student Ministry. He also served as men’s minister and college and career ministry pastor at Northwest Hispanic Baptist Church. Currently aside from working at SABA he is also a pastor at Mighty Fortress Church. Albert’s passion has always been ministry and technology.
